Vintage Retro Mid-Century Plywood Chair Reversible Red/Green Vinyl Seat Covers
This wonderful, visually interesting, Mid-Century occasional chair came to us in need of some TLC and has been completely rebuilt. All pieces have been sanded, oiled and finished with 3 coats of clear wax. The reversible red and green seat pads were only in need of a good clean. There is some wear and patina to them but it only adds to the character. The same applies to the wooden frame but this is to be expected for an item of this age. The backrest ply section had to be replaced do to damage, but this is only visible from the rear.
The frame is mostly thick plywood but the armrests, leg braces and some other small bits are made of a dark, beautifully grained hardwood that contrasts well with the light finish of the ply.
There are no makers marks or labels on the chair and we've been unable to source a manufacturer or any other examples. It is visually interesting and a great example of classic Mid-Century design that would look great in any setting.
